Writers Shares His Struggle with Daughter's Cancer

Sunday January 18, 2009
Al Martinez, a columnists for the Los Angeles Times, shared his struggle with his daughters recent cancer diagnosis - and encourages others to do the same. He shares his story of meeting his daughter for the first time, when she was not quite a year old, after returning home from a tour in the Korean war. Now an adult, his daughter has been diagnosed with cancer in her intestine that has spread to her liver. His story is touching and he's put a call out to his readers to share their stories of hope.

Read Martinez's column here and share your own story.

Sadly, Martinez's column has been discontinued because of budget cutbacks, much to this dismay of his many fans. His column may be going away but his hope for his daughters recovery remains strong.
