Four physicians have been named as recipients of the first Hastings Center Cunniff-Dixon Physician Awards. The awards were given by the Cunniff-Dixon Foundation, whose mission is to enrich the doctor-patient relationship at the end of life. The Hastings Center is a bioethics research institute known for its pioneering work on end-of-life care.
Robert A. Milch, MD, FACS won the established physician award for leadership in end-of-life care. Three awards were given for early-career physicians demonstrating serious commitment to end-of-life care. Those recipients were Elisabeth Potts Dellon, MD, MPH, Jeffrey N. Stoneberg, DO, and Eytan Szmuilowicz, MD.
