April 16 marks National Healthcare Decision Day. Events are scheduled around the nation and thousands of people will gather to learn about and maybe even sign advance directives.
My husband and I made our own advance directives several years ago and we often discuss our treatment preferences for various situations. I was in my late twenties when I made my advance directives, yet I still can't convince my parents that it's a good idea for them. I am encouraging them to attend a NHDD event near them this year, then maybe someone else can convince them of the importance of planning ahead!
Visit the National Healthcare Decision Day website to find an event near you or list your own event.
