Kirsti A. Dyer, MD, MS, FT, FAAETS is a Physician, Professor, Professional Health Educator and a Grief and Bereavement Expert. She has been interested in death, dying and bereavement since her early days when she worked as an Emergency Medical Technician; this interest persisted throughout her medical training and into the present.
Dr. Dyer has more than 18 years of experience and post-graduate training in the fields of Death, Dying & Bereavement, Traumatic Stress and Wellness. Her articles have been published in medical journals, including the Journal of the American Medical Association, Neonatal Network, Medical Wellness Journal, CyberPsychology and Behavior, Journal of Medical Internet Research and Western Journal of Medicine. Dr. Dyer has lectured for Kaiser Permanente, U.C. Berkeley Extension, American Institute of Medical Education, the California Hospice Foundation, American Medical Student Association, the California Maritime Academy, Hospice of the Sierra, March of Dimes, Columbia College and the Tuolumne County Medical Society. She developed online courses for NICU Solutions and the University of Pittsburgh's Supercourse.
Dr. Dyer received her Medical Degree and a Master's Degree from the University of California, Davis. She completed a residency in Internal (Adult) Medicine at Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital, a University of Southern California Affiliate and surgical year at the University of California San Francisco - Fresno Program.
