Definition:

Anxiety is defined as a state of uneasiness and worry about real or perceived future events. Anxiety is a common symptom in patients who are nearing the end of life. Anxiety about current or possible symptoms, the dying process, and what will happen to loved ones after death is a real problem for many palliative care and hospice patients. Anxiety is a distressing symptom and requires prompt treatment.
