Alexis' Bracelet or Wristband - Only Love
The "only love" bracelets were created by Jennifer Scarbrough of Zia Jewelry in memory of Alexis Claire D'Arrigo-Martin and the thousands of other children whose legacies remind us of the power of love.
Little Alexis Claire lived for six and a half weeks in 2003 before dying suddenly and unexpectedly from SIDS or Sudden Infant Death Syndrome.
The priest who visited after Alexis died had the following words for her parents when asked why Alexis died:
- I can't tell you why, but I can tell you this. Just like an actor on stage, every child has their moment. It might be one day, six days, five months, but the role that they play, for however long that they're with us, is important. Alexis did her good work and now she's directing the play from above. Her role is still going on.
The "only love" bracelet is worn by Mandy Moore and other celebrities in honor of the Alexis and all of the children served by Children's Hospice Coalition.
Alexis bracelet is a reminder that the length of a life does not reflect the depth of the love shared between a parent and a child. From day one children give and receive love with grace. This power of love continues even after death.
