I get a flu vaccine almost every year. Two years ago, I somehow neglected to get one and had a terrible case of the flu. I had a raging fever and a cough that got so bad that I actually cracked a rib! My husband fared much better and only suffered a mild fever and stuffy nose. Luckily our children were vaccinated and escaped the flu's wrath.
